The Village of Belgium has a Recycling Center that Residents may use to dispose of some items that cannot be placed in their Curbside collection bins. Residents must sign a user agreement and pay an annual fee to access the Recycling Center.

2025 Rates are: $10 for Access Card, $40 for calendar year access

Users of the Recycling Center must comply with the rules and regulations of the Recycling Center as posted as well as the provisions of Village Ordinance §231-19. Rules and regulations of the Recycling Center:

• The Recycling Center is for Village Residents only.  Residents shall not allow non-residents access to the Recycling Center.

• The Recycling Center is for household waste generated only at the address of the user and will not be used to dispose of any waste generated at another address or any commercial waste.

• Residents will not dispose of any of the following items at the Recycling Center:

Air Conditioners, Humidifiers/De-Humidifiers, Mattresses/Box Springs, Refrigerators/Freezers, Tires/Shingles, Hazardous Waste, Anti-Freeze, Paints/Thinners, Liquids, Medications/Medical Supplies, Explosive Materials/Ammunition, Fluorescent Ballast/Bulbs, Propane/Gas Containers, Concrete/Brick, Televisions, VCR/DVD/Blue-Ray Players, Computers/Monitors, Printers/Scanners, Fax Machines, Cell Phones, Microwaves, Car Batteries.

Violations of any of these rules will require the cardholder to remove and personally dispose of any disallowed items.  If the cardholder fails to remove the disallowed items, the village will dispose of the items and the cost of disposal as well as a citation in the amount of $50 will be billed to the cardholder.  In addition to any monetary penalties the following progressive penalties will be enforced:

• First Violation as cardholder – Warning

• Second Violation as cardholder – Suspension of card for remainder of calendar year

• Third Violation as cardholder – Permanent revocation of access to Recycling Center

Excessive use of the card will be evaluated and may subject the resident to usage limitations or additional fees.
